Mario Party Jamboree offers a wealth of content right from the start, but there are certain characters and boards that you'll need to unlock to play with them. Below, we explain how to obtain everything.
The new installment of the popular Mario Party franchise, known as Mario Party Jamboree, is now available and offers an expanded experience with more boards, characters, and mini-games than ever before. This new title marks a successful culmination of the series on the Switch console. Mario Party fans are excited to explore the game's content and enjoy the gameplay. Below is a detailed guide on how to unlock characters and boards in this new installment.
Unlocking Characters
As you begin your adventure in Jamboree, you'll notice the presence of two mysterious characters on the character selection screen. Unlike previous titles, where it was necessary to complete numerous tasks to unlock new characters, Jamboree makes this process much more accessible.
To find and unlock Pauline, an iconic figure in the Mario universe, head to a small sandbank located between the Mario Party island and Minigame Bay. As you approach her and the option to interact appears, she will join your game as a playable character.
On the other hand, Ninji, a classic enemy from the Mario universe, also joins the fun this time. To find him, look for a couple of islands behind the Rhythm Kitchen building. Just like with Pauline, interact with Ninji to add him to your list of playable characters.
Unlocking Boards
When you start Jamboree, you can choose from four boards: Mega Wiggler’s Tree Party, Rainbow Galleria, Goomba Lagoon, and Roll ’em Raceway. However, there are three additional boards that are hidden at first but play an essential role on the map: Western Land, Mario’s Rainbow Castle, and King Bowser’s Keep.
To unlock these extra boards, you need to play and progress on the Jamboree’s Rewards Track, a system similar to a free battle pass. By reaching different levels through your games and achievements, you can gain access to the following boards:
- Silver Rank (level 10): Western Land and the Classic Bonus Stars option.
- Gold Rank (level 20): Mario’s Rainbow Castle.
- Platinum Rank (level 30): King Bowser’s Keep and the Boss Rush mode, available in Minigame Bay.
With all these elements, Mario Party Jamboree promises to be one of the most complete installments, inviting both new players and veterans to enjoy a rich experience filled with fun and strategies.
