Guide to Transforming Chrono Tokens into Units in Marvel Rivals
Marvel Rivals gives players the opportunity to transform their Chrono tokens into Units. The following outlines the process for doing so.
Since its launch in December 2024, Marvel Rivals, a superhero game from NetEase Games, has captivated the gaming community by offering intense PVP action and a complex cosmetic economy system. Its structure features three types of currencies: Lattice, Units, and Chrono Tokens, each playing an essential role in the player experience.
The premium currency, Lattice, is acquired with real money, starting at $0.99 for 100 units. This currency allows access to exclusive skins and packs. On the other hand, Units are a classic currency that can be earned during gameplay or converted from Lattice at a 1:1 ratio, and they are necessary for purchasing aesthetic items like character skins and emotes. Chrono Tokens, identified by their purple color and lightning bolt format, are related to the Battle Pass and offer players free and paid cosmetics as they complete daily missions and challenges.
This multi-currency system strikes a balance between accessibility for players who do not wish to spend money and attractive options for those who choose to invest, keeping the community active. As Season 1, "Eternal Night Falls," comes to a close, NetEase has introduced a significant update in February 2025. Now, players can convert their surplus Chrono Tokens into Units after completing the Battle Pass.
In Marvel Rivals, the conversion of Chrono Tokens to Units is available for those who hold the Luxury Battle Pass and have finished all its rewards. This functionality, introduced with the Season 1.5 update, allows players to exchange their additional Chrono Tokens, earned through daily missions and challenges, for Units, which are useful for purchasing cosmetics in the shop.
From the main screen, players can access the Battle Pass menu, where a conversion option will appear once all rewards have been unlocked. If you have enough Chrono Tokens, you can perform the conversion at any time at a rate of 1,000 to 1, thus obtaining 100 Units. It is important to mention that Chrono Tokens do not carry over to the next season, so it is advisable to redeem them before the season ends in April 2025 by completing daily missions (which grant 30 tokens each) and more challenging missions (which provide 80 tokens).
For instance, if you have 5,000 Chrono Tokens, you will receive 500 Units, which is enough to acquire low-cost cosmetics. However, premium skins require 1,600 Units, meaning only players who have purchased the Luxury Battle Pass (990 Lattice, around $9.99) will have access to them. With this new option available, players should plan their gaming time to maximize their Units and take advantage of store offers during Season 1.
