Google seeks to simplify programming for businesses with the help of Gemini AI.
The new Gemini Code Assist Enterprise aims to make coding easier for everyone.
Google has improved its programming assistant for enterprise developers by utilizing its Gemini artificial intelligence platform. The new service, named Gemini Code Assist Enterprise, is designed to simplify the coding process, increasing the productivity and efficiency of developers.
This assistant will offer code customization options, providing suggestions to optimize it according to best practices and the organization’s internal libraries, ensuring that the code is more relevant and accurate. Code Assist was first announced in April 2024, leveraging the Gemini 1.5 Pro AI model to quickly analyze large volumes of code and make complex changes. The new service aims to go beyond simple AI-driven coding assistance, enabling developers to generate or transform more accurate and pertinent code for their applications.
One of the standout features of Gemini is its wide token context window, which gives developers a clearer view and allows them to address the specific details of a development session, in addition to working with local codebases. Code Assist Enterprise will be available on platforms such as Firebase, Databases, BigQuery, Colab Enterprise, Apigee, and Application Integration, without the need for additional purchases. BigQuery users will also benefit from assistance in SQL and Python.
Ryan J. Salva, Senior Director of Developer Tools and Operations, stated that software development is fundamental to the modern economy and that the complexity of creating effective applications increases with the number of levels of abstraction and the shortage of experienced developers. Google Cloud proposes that the best way to address these development challenges is through an AI-backed application development solution that works across the entire technology stack, facilitating better contextual suggestions and offering enterprise-level security commitments.
Developers will be able to access Gemini Code Assist Enterprise for a cost of $45 per month per user, or for $19 monthly if they opt for an annual subscription until March 31, 2025.
