Google is testing a feature to hold real-time conversations within its search engine.

You could soon hold conversations with Google Search.

Google is ramping up its efforts in artificial intelligence to maintain its leadership in the search engine market, especially following OpenAI's entry with ChatGPT Search. One of the new features the company is working on is a voice search function that allows users to interact conversationally and in real time through the Google app.

Recently, a social media insider shared a video of this new feature, which is currently in the testing phase. This system will allow users to ask questions simply by speaking to their devices, and Google will respond with appropriate results. The innovative aspect of this function is that, unlike previous voice search capabilities where users could only ask one question at a time, users will now be able to ask follow-up questions without having to restart the process.

At the beginning of the interaction, users will be able to continue asking successive questions, and Google will update the search results in real time, providing links and AI-driven summaries in response to each query.

Although this feature is not yet available to the general public and its release is not guaranteed, it is likely that Google will implement similar features to keep up with the competition in voice search and voice-to-text capabilities. The expectation is that this innovation, or a version of it, will be introduced in the near future.
