The presence of online scams has intensified, and fraudulent websites have become a common problem in the digital age. In response to this situation, Google has decided to act to minimize these confusions. The company is in the process of implementing a verification system that will display a blue tick next to confirmed domains. Some users can already observe checkmarks on certain commercial links within Google search results, demonstrating the authenticity of companies like Meta or Apple, distinguishing them from imitators looking to capitalize on recognized brands.

Molly Shaheen, Google's public affairs spokesperson, stated that they are conducting an experiment that includes these checkmarks to facilitate the identification of legitimate businesses online. When hovering over the checkmark, a message reveals that "Google's signals suggest that this business is what it claims to be," based on website verification, Merchant Center information, and manual reviews.

On the other hand, Google has also announced new features to provide users with more control over their personal information online. This includes an updated dashboard that allows users to locate and remove personal data from search results, as well as the option to request the removal of explicit images. They have also begun automatically blurring graphic violent or adult content to improve the family-friendly experience.

In the realm of artificial intelligence, Google has begun implementing its own generative AI tool in response to Microsoft integrating ChatGPT into Bing. This new feature, called Search Generative Experience (SGE), is designed to simplify the search for information, allowing users to understand a topic more quickly and discover new perspectives.

Finally, Amazon is also on the path to transforming its web search system through generative AI. In a recent job posting, they mentioned their intention to reinvent Amazon Search, creating an interactive experience that will help users find answers to their product inquiries, make comparisons, and receive personalized recommendations.
