From a Carefree Employee to Receiving an 80 Lakh Rupee Bonus in Just 8 Months.

A former Google employee has shared his experience of how he managed to secure a significant bonus just eight months after joining the company. Jerry Lee, a 29-year-old strategist based in San Francisco, joined Google as the youngest member of his team. Initially, he described his first two months as "strange." In a post on Threads, he mentioned that he was advised to "take things easy," enjoy the free food, and explore the facilities, which made him feel that his contributions were undervalued because of his youth and the fact that his colleagues had more work experience.

However, after two months of inactivity, Lee felt he needed to get more involved in the work. He began looking for projects he could participate in and was assigned a market analysis. During his research, he discovered a significant gap in a product that had gone unnoticed, a finding that proved crucial for the team. This contribution enabled him to lead an important project, managing a team that included two project managers, six engineers, five analysts, as well as members from the operations and legal departments.

The success of this project not only earned him a promotion but also granted him a 30% raise, culminating in a bonus of approximately 80 lakh rupees just eight months after his entrance to Google. Lee expressed his excitement upon receiving the news, as it would allow him to pay off his student loans more quickly and take his parents on vacation. Additionally, he encouraged other professionals to take the initiative and create their own opportunities instead of waiting for them to come passively.
