Four New Disney Plus Movies and Series I'm Excited to Watch in January 2025

Disney Plus will add more movies and series this month.

With the arrival of January 2025, Disney Plus expands its content offerings. This streaming service is renowned for its diverse selection of movies and TV shows, and the list of new releases for this month promises to further broaden its already extensive library.

Among the most anticipated premieres is A Real Pain, a comedy that follows two Jewish cousins from New York, David and Benji, played by Jesse Eisenberg and Kieran Culkin. The plot takes them to Poland to honor the memory of their deceased grandmother, but along the way, old family tensions arise. It premieres on January 16 and combines humor with emotional moments, promising to deliver both laughter and tears.

Another title joining the lineup is Goosebumps: The Vanishing, set to launch on January 10. Based on the famous book series by R.L. Stine, this new installment follows twins Devin and Cece as they spend the summer with their father. Upon discovering a dark secret in their surroundings, they become embroiled in the mysterious disappearance of four teenagers that occurred in 1994. Though I'm not a big fan of horror, this series could be a good way for me to delve into the genre.

On January 29, Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man debuts, an animated series that offers a new perspective on Peter Parker's origin story, although it is not part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The series promises an approach that highlights the character's roots in comic books, and I hope it offers a fresh and exciting experience.

Finally, on January 24, The Best Heart Attack of My Life arrives, a comedy-drama based on the work of Hernán Casciari. The story centers on a frustrated writer who survives a heart attack thanks to the help of the host of the rental house where he was staying. This event drastically changes his life and the lives of those around him. The plot suggests a mix of humor and reflection that I am eager to witness.
