Fortnite simplifies the variety of its battle passes.

Increasing your level in the battle pass will be easier, regardless of the mode you are playing in.

Epic Games is expanding the concept of Fortnite beyond just being a battle royale. In order to facilitate progress through the various battle passes available, experience points (XP) earned in any mode will be applicable to these passes. Currently, the XP gained in Fortnite does not contribute to progress in the special passes for Lego Fortnite and the Music Festival, where progress is measured through "studs" and "festival points," respectively.

Starting November 2, Epic will begin the transition that will allow XP to be used for progression. This change will first be implemented in the new Music Pass (formerly Festival Pass), eliminating the need to collect festival points. Then, on December 1, the application of XP will also be applied to the "Brick or Treat" Lego Pass, along with the removal of studs. On the same date, the "battle stars," which players earn with XP in the main Fortnite battle pass, will also be removed.

Epic is transforming Fortnite into a platform that offers various experiences, both from Epic and created by the community, instead of focusing solely on one main mode. Allowing players to use XP to access these varied experiences aims to facilitate the transition, especially considering that Epic has had about a year since the launch of Lego Fortnite, Rocket Racing, and Fortnite Festival to better understand what their community is looking for.

Additionally, it has been announced that the Music and Lego Passes released after December 1 will include a track that offers both free and premium rewards, exclusive to those who purchase them, similar to how the main battle pass works. Epic will allow users to directly purchase a reward in any pass they desire, eliminating the need to excessively grind levels or buy additional levels to access that reward. Although the battle, Lego, and Music passes are currently separate purchases, Epic has promised that it will "soon" offer an option to acquire all of them at once.

The news about the changes in the battle passes comes at a crucial moment, just before the current Marvel-themed season concludes, which will end Saturday at 2 AM ET. Epic has already begun generating excitement around a new live event and has revealed that the next season, titled "Remix," will return to Chapter 2's island, likely allowing for a nostalgic journey through the game's history.
