Fleur Geffrier celebrates the premiere of the second season of 'Drops of God' on Apple TV Plus.
Exclusive: "It was a stressful and emotional moment at the same time."
The series Drops of God, from Apple TV Plus, has captured the audience's attention and has been confirmed for a second season renewal in May 2024. The series, adapted from the popular manga by Tadashi Agi, tells the story of Camille Léger (played by Fleur Geffrier), a estranged daughter of Alexandre Léger (Stanley Weber), a wine expert. After her father's death, Camille learns that she has inherited a valuable wine collection, considered one of the most important in the world, valued at over $100 million. However, to access this inheritance, she must confront Issei (Tomohisa Yamashita), her father's apprentice, in a series of sensory challenges.
Throughout the first season, Camille faces her physical aversion to alcohol, a result of rigorous training in her childhood to develop a refined palate. Issei, on the other hand, feels he cannot compete with Camille's innate advantages and resorts to alternative methods to succeed, while his family pressures him with threats of disinheritance.
Before Drops of God received an International Emmy Award for Best Drama Series in 2024, lead actress Fleur Geffrier shared what viewers can look forward to in the second season. The relationship between Camille and Issei deepens as they discover they are blood siblings. In this new installment, both will attempt to uncover the origins of the world's most valuable wine, a secret that even Alexandre could not decipher. This journey will take them to various corners of the globe, where they will have to confront their inner demons.
Geffrier expressed her desire to further explore the dynamics between Camille and Issei, highlighting their cultural and personality differences. The actress noted that she would like to see how they navigate their relationship amidst their global mission, and anticipates that there will be conflicts and diverse moments between them. The shocking twist at the end of the first season, which revealed that Camille and Issei are half-siblings due to an ancient romance between Alexandre and Issei's mother, promises to be just the beginning of many surprises.
Reprising the role of Camille represents an emotional challenge for Fleur, who feels relieved and excited to resume her role after three years. The evolution of her character and others, including Hirokazu, Issei's father, will be a key point in the next season, where all characters will return with significant changes.
