First look at the Microsoft Xbox Series X in white without a disc drive.
The white finish matches the design of the Xbox Series S.
Microsoft has begun selling a diskless version of its Xbox Series X console, featuring a white finish similar to that of the smaller Xbox Series S. The only difference from the original carbon black design of the model is the absence of a disc drive in this white version. Additionally, there is no option to add a disc drive, so buyers must be certain that they prefer to play titles digitally or through Xbox Game Pass before choosing this model, which is priced at $449.99.
As for the rear ports, the previous configuration is maintained, which includes two USB-A ports, an HDMI 2.1 port for connecting to TVs or monitors, an Ethernet port, and a storage expansion slot. On the front, there is a single USB-A port and a button for pairing controllers and accessories.
The white finish of this diskless Xbox Series X matches the "robot white" tone present in the Xbox Series S. Furthermore, Microsoft will launch a 1TB white Xbox Series S for $349.99 for this holiday season, as well as a special "Galaxy Black" edition of the 2TB Xbox Series X for $599.99. Leaks regarding this new white version suggest that there may be improvements in the heat sink used to cool the console, but disassemblies are expected to confirm whether there are internal changes that enhance cooling.
