Is Steven Spielberg a PC gamer? Discover why the famous director is passionate about video games.
Steven Spielberg is considered one of the most prominent directors of his time. In addition to having won an Oscar, he is also a great fan of PC video games. Discover which video game he enjoys playing the most.
Steven Spielberg, known for his impressive career, has received numerous accolades, including three Academy Awards, two BAFTAs, four Golden Globes, an AFI Life Achievement Award, as well as honors from the Kennedy Center and the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Despite the many awards to his name, his son, Max Spielberg, has highlighted a lesser-known aspect of his father: his love for video games.
Max, who is co-founder and creative director of FuzzyBot, a video game development company, shared in an interview about the relationship he maintains with his father through gaming. According to Max, Spielberg has become an avid PC gamer and is the one who introduced him to this world. “He [Steven] loves video games. He’s the reason I got into this,” he mentioned in a conversation. Particularly fond of the Call of Duty franchise, Spielberg asks his son for game recommendations, indicating that he wants to stay informed about the best available shooting titles. Max explained, “He enjoys the Call of Duty campaign.”
Since Spielberg has directed war masterpieces like Saving Private Ryan, his interest in Call of Duty seems quite fitting. Despite his passion for gaming, he prefers to play on PC, as he feels more comfortable with a keyboard and mouse than with a controller. Max tried to convince him to play Uncharted, mentioning that it is similar to Indiana Jones, the famous franchise created by his father, but Spielberg remains firm in his platform choice.
The father-son relationship in the realm of video games reveals a personal side of Spielberg that often remains hidden behind his extensive and acclaimed film career.
