Epic will expand its free games program to its mobile store.
A new program of free games and up to 50 new titles will arrive on the Epic Games Store mobile app.
The mobile version of the Epic Games Store has primarily focused on popular titles such as Fortnite and Fall Guys, but this is about to change. During Unreal Fest in Seattle, Steve Allison, General Manager of the Epic Games Store, announced that the company plans to expand the store's library on mobile devices by adding between 10 and 50 new third-party games. Additionally, a free games program will be launched.
Allison indicated that both the free games program and the new titles will be available in the last quarter of the year. During his talk at Unreal Fest, it was also mentioned that Ark: Ultimate Mobile Edition will be one of the new third-party games available in the mobile store.
Another aspect highlighted by Epic Games is its intention to simplify the game submission process. Allison explained that the store will offer "self-publishing tools" for developers, allowing them to launch their games without needing to interact directly with the company, similar to what already happens on PC. Currently, the Epic Games Store is available worldwide for Android devices and for iOS users within the European Union.
