The new Bose SoundLink Home stands out as one of its most appealing wireless speakers.
Does it sound as good as it looks?
Bose has introduced a new addition to its popular SoundLink wireless speaker line. Unlike many of its previous models, which feature colorful and water- and sand-resistant designs, the new SoundLink Home, priced at $219, is made from materials such as anodized aluminum and a fabric cover, offering a sleeker appearance designed to fit in with home environments.
The battery life is estimated to last up to nine hours after a four-hour charge via the speaker's USB-C port, which can also function as an audio input for connecting devices like laptops using a cable. The SoundLink Home supports Bluetooth 5.3, with a wireless range of approximately 30 feet, and can be paired with other SoundLink Home speakers to create stereo sound. However, it does not include Wi-Fi connectivity, meaning that, unlike other Bose speakers, it is not compatible with AirPlay.
Available in cool gray or light silver color options, the Bose SoundLink Home is primarily designed for indoor use, though it is recommended to avoid using it in the kitchen due to the lack of water and dust resistance. It features a microphone that allows it to be used as a speaker for calls or to interact with a smart assistant on a connected device.
The SoundLink Home is now available starting today on Bose's online store in the mentioned color options. It is important to note that a previous version of this news incorrectly stated that the SoundLink Home could be paired with other Bose wireless speakers for stereo sound; that functionality is exclusive to pairing it with other SoundLink Home speakers.
