Drone Air 3S: Meet DJI's New Versatile Mid-Range Model.

The Air 3S offers an improvement in image quality, particularly in low-light conditions, and features a system to avoid obstacles at night.

DJI has expanded its mid-range drone lineup with the launch of the Air 3S, a model that presents itself as a versatile and high-quality option. This new drone stands out for its enhanced capabilities, especially for night photography, thanks to its obstacle avoidance system functioning even in low-light conditions.

Ferdinand Wolf, DJI's product experience director, mentioned that the Air 3S elevates the Air series to a new level by incorporating professional features such as dual cameras and 360-degree obstacle detection, while maintaining a lightweight design at 724 grams. Wolf emphasized that it is the ideal drone for capturing special moments during trips, ensuring safety when used in darkness.

In terms of technology, the Air 3S is equipped with a frontal LiDAR and six vision sensors, including two front sensors, one rear sensor, and one on the bottom. Its main camera includes a 50-megapixel, 1-inch sensor and a 24 mm lens, in addition to a second 48-megapixel sensor with a 70 mm lens (3x zoom). Both cameras offer up to 14 stops of dynamic range in automatic mode. Additionally, the drone can record in 4K at 60 fps and 4K at 120 fps, generating smaller files compared to its predecessor model.

The Air 3S features 42 GB of internal storage and the ability to expand space via microSD, allowing for a maximum flight time of 45 minutes. It also offers wireless file transfer options to a phone or via USB-C to a computer.

This new drone is already available in DJI’s online store and is offered in various kit options, starting at a price of $1099 / £959 / €1099, including a controller to facilitate piloting through a phone.
