Donkey Kong Bananza: a new 3D platformer for Switch 2.
There's a new Donkey Kong game on the way. Donkey Kong Bananza will be released for Switch 2 on July 17.
Recently, Nintendo held a live stream where they shared new details about the highly anticipated Switch 2 console. At the end of the event, the company unveiled an innovative 3D platformer starring Donkey Kong, titled Donkey Kong Bananza. This will be the character's first 3D platforming game since Donkey Kong 64, released for the Nintendo 64 in 1999. Donkey Kong Bananza will be available exclusively for the Switch 2 starting July 17, just over a month after the console hits stores.
The game promises an exciting experience, featuring destructible environments that allow Donkey Kong to interact with and break objects. It also includes side-scrolling sections reminiscent of how recent Mario games incorporate 2D elements. The game's aesthetic is colorful and cartoonish, in line with the personality of the iconic gorilla. The trailer doesn't feature the famous rap song from Donkey Kong, but there is a brief nod to the iconic "ooh banana" sound effect from DK64.
The preview also shows Donkey Kong climbing mountains and exploring various locations, such as a forest and a frozen region. Additionally, a Kong is introduced who turns out to be the most intimidating one seen to date. As excitement builds, the wait for Donkey Kong Bananza is almost over, as its release is scheduled for July 17.
