DJI unveils its most affordable FPV goggles to date, making the Neo much more accessible for immersive flight experiences.
DJI has launched its most affordable FPV drone package, specifically designed for beginners.
DJI has introduced the new Goggles N3, which represent the most affordable model in this category focused on the FPV (First Person View) experience for drone flying. With a price just over half of the Goggles 3, the N3 model stands out as an excellent option to accompany the Neo, DJI's most economical 4K drone, which offers multiple flight control options, including FPV.
The price of the Goggles N3 is set at $229 / £229 / AU$359. Additionally, there is an option to purchase them as part of the DJI Neo Motion Fly More Combo, which costs $449 / £449 / AU$839. It’s worth mentioning that this combo includes the Neo drone, the RC Motion 3 controller (instead of the FPV Remote Controller 3), two additional batteries, and a charging hub, all at a lower cost than the Goggles 3 alone. This move provides newcomers to the FPV world with an accessible alternative, solidifying the Neo as one of the best drones for beginners.
For more experienced pilots, the adrenaline rush is achieved through high-speed flights using the DJI Avata 2 alongside the Goggles 3, which currently start at $999 on Amazon (USA) or £798.95 on Amazon (UK) for the single battery combo version. In contrast, for those with less experience, the new DJI Neo Motion Fly More Combo presents a simpler and more economical option for getting into FPV flying.
The Goggles N3 offer remarkable features, such as a 54-degree field of view and a Full HD 1080p screen that immerses users in the drone's perspective. They also come with a one-touch defogging system that activates fans to prevent condensation, and their design includes a headband with an integrated battery for better balance, ideal for those who wear glasses.
The device also features the same antenna as the more expensive Goggles 2 and benefits from DJI's O4 video transmission, offering a range of up to 13 km (as long as legal restrictions in each region allow) and minimal latency of 31 ms. An interesting augmented reality (AR) feature allows users to adjust camera settings with the motion controller before the drone takes off or while in hover mode. Additionally, the live feed can be shared with a connected smartphone, which can act as a secondary screen for an observer.
With an approximate battery life of three hours when fully charged, the DJI Goggles N3 represent a smart move by the brand, opening up FPV flying to a new market of beginners interested in this experience but who do not wish to invest large sums in more expensive alternatives. With this, the Neo starts to make more and more sense in the realm of beginner drones.
