Discord launches a tool to ignore users instead of blocking them.
With the Ignore feature, Discord users can discreetly disable interaction with other accounts.
Discord has introduced a new feature called Ignore, which allows users to hide new messages, server notifications, profiles, and activities from certain users without notifying them. This update responds to a request from the community, which sought a less drastic way to reduce interactions compared to blocking.
When using the Ignore feature, direct messages received from ignored individuals will appear in the inbox with a distinctive icon and the name dimmed. This means that the user who has chosen to ignore will be able to see those messages if they wish. The same applies to notifications in a server. If a user who has ignored someone joins a voice or video call where that person is present, Discord will show a notice before entering the conversation.
The feature can be activated from various locations, including the dropdown menu that appears when clicking on a user's avatar. From the Content and Social tab in user settings, users can view a list of all ignored and blocked accounts. To stop ignoring a profile, it can be done from that complete list, from the friends list, or by directly accessing the person's profile. Discord provides comprehensive details on how to use the Ignore feature in its help center for those who need more information.
