The Minisforum MS-A1 is compatible with various AMD Ryzen processors.

The Minisforum MS-A1 represents the latest addition to the brand's range of mini PCs, functioning as the successor to the MS-01 model. This new device stands out for its customization capabilities, as it includes an AM5 socket that allows for the installation of various AMD Ryzen processors, ranging from the 7000 series to the 8000 PHX architecture (8700G/8600G), with the possibility of supporting the 9000 series after a BIOS update. Additionally, it is compatible with the AMD 8700G APU for graphics.

The Minisforum MS-A1 is sold as a barebone system (without CPU or operating system) starting at $259, although it is currently available with a $20 discount, bringing the price down to $239. A preconfigured model is also available for purchase. Users have the option to add the Minisforum Deg1 OCuLink graphics docking station for an additional $99, allowing for the connection of up to four 8K displays simultaneously.

In terms of storage, this mini PC supports up to 16TB through four PCIe 4.0 M.2 SSDs. It features five USB Type-A ports, one USB4 port reaching speeds of 40Gbps, an OCuLink interface, and dual RJ45 Ethernet ports that allow speeds of up to 2.5Gbps each. For video output, the device includes HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 2.0 connections, as well as the capacity to use three 8K displays without the need for an eGPU. Regarding wireless connectivity, it offers Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2.

The design of the Minisforum MS-A1 is compact, made from a combination of metal and plastic. Its Cold Wave cooling system, which features two fans and four heat pipes, ensures optimal performance and prevents overheating even under heavy loads. Thanks to its customizable CPU options and affordable support for eGPU, the Minisforum MS-A1 presents itself as a versatile solution ideal for users seeking a compact and powerful workstation for content creation, multitasking, gaming, or general productivity.
