Comparison between Roborock Qrevo Edge and Qrevo Slim

Roborock has introduced several new models of robotic vacuum cleaners, including the Qrevo Edge and the Qrevo Slim. What are the new features that these high-end robotic vacuum cleaners offer?

Roborock is constantly expanding its line of robotic vacuums, introducing the Qrevo Edge and Qrevo Slim as the latest additions. These automatic vacuums and mops are set to be premium options in the market, providing interesting features not found in other models. Although both share numerous specifications, there are some key differences to consider before deciding which one to add to your home.

Price and Design

So far, Roborock has not announced the prices of these two models. The Edge is expected to be more expensive, as most of its features are superior to those of the Slim. Both products have a similar design, with visible water tanks on top of a rectangular base. Aesthetically, both look good and could be a nice addition to any home.

Suction

The Roborock Qrevo Edge offers a suction power of 18,500Pa, positioning itself as one of the most powerful robotic vacuums on the market. In comparison, the Slim reaches a maximum of 11,000Pa. Additionally, the Edge features the innovative DuoDivide Brush, composed of two rolling brushes that collect and channel hair into a central space, nearly eliminating tangles. In contrast, the Slim uses the DuoRoller Brush, which, while effective, is not as advanced as the Edge's new option. Aside from these differences, both robots share useful features such as a side brush that improves coverage, automatic brush lifting when detecting liquids, and an ultrasonic sensor to better distinguish and clean different floor types. Both models automatically empty their dustbin into the docking station upon completing a cleaning cycle, with the Edge having a capacity of 325mL and the Slim having 220mL, promising both will last up to seven weeks before needing a bag change.

Mopping

The specifications for mopping are mostly similar for both models. They both feature dual rotating mopping pads, one of which can spin to clean around baseboards and furniture. Additionally, they automatically lift when detecting carpets. The Edge can raise its chassis by 10mm, in addition to the pads, while the Slim only lifts its mop by that same amount. The docking stations for both can wash and dry the pads after each cleaning cycle, even checking if a second cycle is necessary to remove tough residue. While the mops are being washed, a rotating brush at the base of the station ensures that no dirt accumulates between cycles.

Additional Features

Both the Edge and the Slim incorporate a voice assistant (Rocky) that allows you to issue commands without needing to use a mobile app. They also have the capability to capture photos of your pets, which is fun if you have furry friends at home. The Edge has a runtime of up to 240 minutes, while the Slim offers 180 minutes. If your home is large, the extra 60 minutes can be significant; however, for smaller spaces, either model should suffice for regular cleaning. The navigation systems are slightly different (LDS Laser for the Edge, 3D ToF Navigation for the Slim), but in practice, both offer comparable responsiveness and reliability.

Which is the Best Combination of Robotic Vacuum and Mop?

Although the Roborock Qrevo Edge and Qrevo Slim share similar specifications, the Edge stands out for its higher suction capacity and superior mop-lifting capabilities, making it a better option for homes with carpets. On the other hand, if you only plan to use the robot as a mop, the Qrevo Slim will save you some money, as it offers a similar mopping system and, in most cases, hard floors do not require the additional suction power of the Edge, which is primarily designed for thick carpets.
