At the Showstoppers event at CES, a showcase where startups present their innovations, a curious device called Intake stood out, marketed as the "only magnetic nasal dilator." During the exhibition, it was notable to see many attendees with a small black strip on their noses, which intrigued those present and sparked curiosity about the product.
The goal of Intake is simple: to facilitate better breathing. This solution is aimed at both people with nasal congestion and those suffering from conditions that affect their respiratory capacity. The design of the nasal dilator consists of two small magnets that adhere to the sides of each nostril, over which a curved black band is placed. This ingenious method allows the band to hold firmly in place, slightly opening the airways.
What’s most surprising is that after placing the device, an immediate difference in breathing can be felt. Despite its action, the experience is quite comfortable, as many users could even forget they are wearing it. The band is reusable, although the magnets must be replaced after each use. The initial Intake kit is priced at $49.99, while replacements for the magnets start at around $20.
