CES 2025: This AI Camera Aims to Help You Make Friends with the Plants in Your Garden.

And it will have a price of less than $100.

Wonder, the new company created by the makers of the popular bird feeder Bird Buddy, has unveiled an innovative product at the CES Unveiled event: a nature camera powered by artificial intelligence called Petal. This device has been designed with feedback from the community in mind and aims to help users connect with wildlife in their surroundings, as explained by Franci Zidar, CEO of Wonder.

The Petal camera, shaped like a colorful cup, can be installed in several ways. Its flexible stem can be wrapped around an object such as a branch or a post, or it can be secured to a planter using its universal clip. It is designed to blend into the natural environment, a concept further emphasized by its optional solar panel, which is leaf-shaped. Together, the device resembles a minimalist bionic flower.

This camera not only takes photos and streams live what is happening around it, but it also identifies the living beings present, sending content to users' smartphones so they can observe more closely what is happening in their garden or yard. The "Nature Intelligence" artificial intelligence helps identify atypical elements, such as wilted leaves or an unusual number of aphids, offering care alerts and personalized advice about the environment. Zidar also mentioned that a future chat feature is in development, allowing users to "talk" to nature by asking questions like whether a flower feels lonely, which in turn will generate recommendations for other plants that thrive in similar conditions.

For those who wish for a more lively outdoor space, Wonder has launched the "Wonder Block" system, which consists of modules for wildlife habitats, including seed trays, insect hotels, and butterfly feeders.

The launch of Petal is scheduled for spring through Kickstarter, with a price of under $100 and shipping dates set for early 2026. The release date for Wonder Blocks is still pending confirmation.
