Dynabook has introduced its new 2-in-1 laptop, the Portégé X30W-M, designed to meet the needs of modern professionals. With dimensions of 303.9 x 197.4 x 17.9 mm and weighing just 989 grams, it stands out as one of the lightest devices in its category, allowing for easy transitions between laptop and tablet modes, offering great versatility for different work environments. This model is now available for purchase, with prices starting at $2,240.
The Portégé X30W-M features Intel Core Ultra processors, ranging from the Core Ultra 5 125H, which includes four performance cores with speeds of up to 4.5 GHz, to the Core Ultra 7 165H, which boasts six performance cores and turbo speeds reaching up to 5.0 GHz. The device runs on Windows 11 Pro and can be equipped with up to 32 GB of LPDDR5x RAM. The basic version with 8 GB includes Intel graphics, while configurations of 16 GB or more offer Intel Arc graphics. Storage options consist of PCIe NVMe SSDs, available in capacities of 256 GB, 512 GB, 1 TB, and 2 TB in Gen 3, and 512 GB, 1 TB, and 2 TB in Gen 4.
The model features a 13.3-inch touchscreen made with Corning Gorilla glass, and also includes a Wacom digital pen, ideal for creative or precision tasks. Its connectivity features include Thunderbolt 4 ports, HDMI, USB-C, USB-A, and Wi-Fi 6E compatibility. The chassis is constructed from dark blue magnesium alloy and ABS, meeting MIL-STD-810H durability standards. In terms of audio, it boasts Harman Kardon stereo speakers that incorporate DTS Atmos sound technology.
Angela Walker, General Manager of Dynabook ANZ, stated that the Portégé X30W-M is designed for professionals who require the capabilities of a full laptop along with the flexibility of a tablet, all in an extremely lightweight device. She also emphasized that the design of this laptop is aimed at supporting the evolving needs of today's businesses, where creativity, connectivity, and security are crucial.
In terms of security, the Portégé X30W-M offers biometric facial recognition, Dynabook's exclusive BIOS, and a self-encrypting storage unit. It operates on a 4-cell, 53 Whr lithium polymer battery which, although not user-replaceable, utilizes fast charging technology that provides up to four hours of use after a 30-minute charge.
