Asus makes an impact at CES 2025 with trendsetting innovations.

Asus is refreshing its gaming laptop lineup, as well as its range of desktop systems, in addition to showcasing interesting advances in external memory and other products.

Asus has launched its new version of the ROG Zephyrus G14 at CES 2025, solidifying it as one of the best gaming laptops. This update incorporates significant upgrades by including an RTX 5080 graphics card for laptops, only slightly increasing its size to 0.63 inches in thickness and 3.46 pounds in weight. Thanks to this enhancement, users will enjoy powerful performance driven by an AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor.

Compared to the previous model, which had an RTX 4070, the new Zephyrus G14 promises to maintain excellent features such as up to 2 TB of PCIe 4.0 storage and up to 32 GB of LPDDR5X-7500 memory. Additionally, it features an ROG Nebula OLED display with a resolution of 2,880 x 1,800 and a refresh rate of 240 Hz. Connectivity capabilities are improved with Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4. Although the laptop’s exterior design is similar to last year’s model, it includes an aluminum finish and a customizable Slash Lighting strip.

However, the model still has some limitations, such as soldered memory that does not allow for upgrades and a potential overheating issue due to its thin design. Additionally, the 16-inch Zephyrus G16 will also receive an upgrade, which will include up to an RTX 5090 and an Intel Core Ultra 9 285H, although its external appearance remains largely unchanged.

Asus has also addressed the connectivity issue of its external GPU, the XG Mobile, which now uses Thunderbolt 5, making it compatible with a wider range of devices. This redesign promises to be quieter and more efficient in cooling, in addition to including various connectors such as HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 2.1.

Another standout model is the ROG Strix Scar, which introduces a tool-less upgrade system, allowing easy access to components like RAM and M.2 SSD. This model can support up to 64 GB of DDR5-5600 RAM and massive storage of up to 4 TB PCIe 4 SSD in RAID 0. Its innovations also include a high-quality ROG Nebula HDR display, which excels in brightness and image performance.

Overall, these launches reflect Asus's commitment to the ongoing improvement of its gaming laptops, providing users with more options and greater customization ease.
