Apple's intelligence receives the ChatGPT Plus update in the iOS 18.2 beta: three features offered by the paid version.

Apple has released the second beta version for developers of iOS 18.2, which includes additional features from Apple Intelligence. Now, users can choose to upgrade to ChatGPT Plus directly from their device settings. The initial version of Apple Intelligence and ChatGPT was launched with the first beta of iOS 18.2, and the new update brings features such as Genmoji, Image Playground, Image Wand, and Visual Intelligence.

To upgrade to ChatGPT Plus, users must first ensure they have the latest beta of iOS 18.2 installed. The process is straightforward: they should go to Settings > Apple Intelligence & Siri > ChatGPT, where they will find the option to upgrade to the paid version. It is important to note that, with this new upgrade option, the free version of ChatGPT has a daily usage limit that can be checked in the device settings.

The collaboration between Apple and OpenAI to introduce ChatGPT on Apple devices initially raised some questions, including rumors about whether there would be any associated costs. However, some of the confusion has now been clarified: iOS 18 includes some free features of ChatGPT, but accessing more advanced functions will require a paid subscription, suggesting a potential revenue-sharing agreement between the two companies.

The subscription to ChatGPT Plus, which costs $19.99 per month, offers users benefits such as early access to new models and higher usage limits. Enhancements include the ability to send up to five times more messages in GPT-4 and unlock more sophisticated models, as well as expanded limits for uploading photos and files, image creation, and web browsing. Additionally, the real-time conversation experience will be improved thanks to an optimized voice feature.

The public version of iOS 18.2 is expected to be available in early December, with significant improvements for Apple Intelligence. In the meantime, users have the opportunity to test beta 2. It is advisable to back up data before participating in testing new versions.
