Apple Music Replay has arrived to highlight your musical taste, whether it's excellent or questionable.
Apple Music Replay gives you a way to summarize your year in streaming music. For the first time, you'll be able to see this summary directly in the Apple Music app.
Apple Music users have had access to the Replay feature throughout 2024, but now Apple has compiled all the statistics into an annual streaming summary. This time, the complete Replay experience can be accessed directly within the Apple Music app through the home, new releases, and search tabs. To view this feature, users need to have iOS 18.1 or higher. In previous years, it was necessary to visit a microsite to get the Replay details, although this option is still available on the web.
As in previous years, users can save a playlist of their most-listened-to songs of 2024, although that information and statistics will be updated in January. Additionally, it is possible to access the Replays from previous years, something that Spotify does not offer with its Wrapped feature.
This year, along with the usual data about the top artists, songs, albums, genres, and playlists, as well as the total minutes listened to on Apple Music, new features have been added. Users can now see if they are among the top 500 or 1,000 listeners of an artist, expanding the limit of 100 from previous years. They can also check their longest streak of consecutive days listening to Apple Music and view the highlighted songs, artists, and albums for each month. Furthermore, the first date they listened to their favorite artist, song, and album of the year will be displayed.
Artists, for their part, also have a version of Replay for the first time. Through a dashboard, they can see the total number of minutes subscribers have spent listening to their music, the total number of listeners, the top cities, and the most recognized song on Shazam.
The most listened-to song on Apple Music this year was “Not Like Us” by Kendrick Lamar, a track that has generated considerable controversy. On the other hand, “Beautiful Things” by Benson Boone was the most identified song on Shazam.
Personally, I have accumulated 55,265 minutes of listening to Apple Music this year. Unsurprisingly, my top artist is Chappell Roan, and the song I've listened to the most is "Pink Pony Club." My other two favorite artists are Charlotte Cardin, whom I highly recommend, and Queens of the Stone Age, with whom I am completely satisfied with my excellent musical taste. I won't mention who ranks fourth or the fact that their Eras Tour ends this weekend.
