Android 15 begins to roll out on Pixel devices: discover the news.

Google has finally released the stable version of Android 15. This new update places special emphasis on data privacy and security, particularly in situations where users may lose access to their device.

The long-awaited next-generation Android experience has finally arrived, as Google has released the public version of Android 15 today. This update is starting to roll out to compatible devices, beginning with the company's Pixel smartphone series. Among the most significant improvements that Android 15 brings are those related to security and privacy.

One of the standout features is Private Space, a secure area where users can store their most sensitive applications, protected by the device's local password or through a biometric layer. This private space is invisible in the app menu, allowing applications related to health data, banking transactions, and strictly private communications to be kept safe without complications. These applications will not appear in the recent apps view or in the settings, and notifications from these applications will also not be publicly visible. Users will have the option to hide the dedicated label for these applications in the menu.

Additionally, Google has introduced features to enhance the protection of stolen devices. Among these is the Theft Detection Lock, which uses artificial intelligence and sensor readings from the device to detect attempts at theft. If the system confirms an attempted theft, it will automatically lock the screen as a security measure. To prevent tracking issues, such as disabling features like "Find My Device" or removing the SIM card, Google will protect these functionalities behind an identity verification process. Furthermore, if someone tries to improperly enter the password for an application or setting, the stolen device will automatically lock itself.

Users will also be able to remotely lock their devices using their registered phone number and passing a security verification from any other device.

The Android interface continues to be optimized for foldable and large-screen devices, now allowing users to pin or unpin the taskbar at the bottom of the screen, which will especially benefit models like the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold. Camera capabilities in low-light conditions have also been improved within third-party applications, adding more precise flash controls.

Additionally, support for satellite messaging, a feature recently introduced on iPhones, will also be available on Android devices. With this update, Android 15 is now available for all Pixel phones starting from the Pixel 6/6 Pro/6a models and later, including the Pixel tablet. Those with devices from other manufacturers will have to wait longer.
