Amazon presents a last-minute offer to acquire TikTok.

Amazon has made an offer to acquire TikTok outright, according to recent reports. This proposal comes at a critical time, as the platform has a deadline of April 5 to divest from its Chinese ownership or face a possible ban in the United States. However, those involved in the negotiations do not seem to take Amazon's offer seriously.

President Donald Trump is scheduled to meet with officials this Wednesday to discuss the future of the app. Previously, Trump mentioned that a deal with TikTok's parent company, ByteDance, is expected to be finalized before the April 5 deadline.

Additionally, it has been reported that the firm Andreessen Horowitz is in talks to invest in TikTok as part of an Oracle-led offer, which includes other U.S. investors interested in purchasing the app. Also, last week it was revealed that the private equity firm Blackstone is considering joining the current non-Chinese shareholders of ByteDance, led by Susquehanna International Group and General Atlantic, to contribute fresh capital aimed at acquiring TikTok's operations in the U.S.
