After the iPhone and iMac, Apple may be in negotiations with Foxconn to manufacture artificial intelligence servers based on its M-series CPU, in order to enhance its capabilities in artificial intelligence.

Foxconn has the necessary expertise, as it produces artificial intelligence servers for Nvidia.

Apple has taken the initiative to seek collaboration with Foxconn for the manufacture of artificial intelligence servers in Taiwan, aiming to strengthen its computing capabilities in this area. Recently, it was reported that Apple plans to use its own M-series silicon chips in these servers, which will be intended to enhance the intelligence features of the company's recent devices such as iPhones, iPads, and MacBooks.

However, it has been reported that Foxconn's capacity may be limited due to its current commitments, as the company is already a major AI server manufacturer for Nvidia. According to sources close to the situation, one of the reasons Apple is looking for Foxconn to produce these servers in Taiwan is to leverage the engineering talent and research and development resources associated with Nvidia projects. It is important to note that Apple's demand in this case would be relatively low compared to the high demand for Nvidia's powerful GB200 servers.

Given Apple's limited experience in server design, especially for data centers, it is expected that the company will need additional support from its suppliers in terms of engineering and design. In this context, the company is in talks with other partners, including LCFC, a subsidiary of Lenovo, for assistance with specific server designs.

Additionally, negotiations have been mentioned to explore new production capabilities outside of China, specifically in Southeast Asia, as well as collaborations with smaller suppliers such as Universal Scientific Industrial for production services. As companies like Microsoft, Amazon, and Google are increasing their investments in AI data centers, Apple is striving to keep up with the release of its intelligence features in new devices. This initiative highlights the company's growing need to expand its data center infrastructure.

Foxconn and Universal Scientific Industrial have chosen not to comment on the matter, and neither Apple nor Lenovo immediately responded to requests for information.
