A technology professional in Bengaluru creates art in the form of GPS lamps by walking 5 kilometers; internet users joke: "A little more running and it looks like he needed to use the bathroom."

For some 🪔 For others 🚽

A running enthusiast and technology professional from Bengaluru shared his Diwali greetings on platform X, accompanied by an image of a GPS artwork he created. This user undertook a 5-kilometer run in various parts of the city with the aim of representing a Diya 🪔 (clay lamp). During his run, he passed through Indira Nagar, Kodihalli, and Doopanahalli, trying to shape the design of the diya with three loops: one large for the lamp and two smaller ones symbolizing the flames of the festival of lights. Despite his efforts, the user explained that he couldn't find a curved street to represent the flame.

The creation was made using Strava, a fitness tracking app popular among athletes and sports enthusiasts, which allows users to record outdoor activities via GPS. The runner shared a link to his GPS art on Strava, showing that he covered a distance of 5.4 kilometers on October 31 at 2:27 PM, completing the task in 34 minutes. His message included a "Happy Deepawali!" and requested his followers to evaluate his work.

The response to his GPS art was mixed: while some praised his effort, others couldn't help but joke about the design, suggesting it comically resembled a toilet. One user humorously noted that he should have run a bit more since it looked like a "commode." Despite the criticisms, the design creator reframed the image to defend his work.

However, there were also those who compared the design to the Docker logo, and one user even referred to it as a "minecraft diwali diya." Reactions ranged from appreciation to humor, which enriched the conversation surrounding his artistic attempt.
