A new artificial intelligence tool centralizes workplace searches and reduces the time spent finding files.

Dropbox Dash for Business aims to become more than just a simple search tool.

To reduce the productivity loss resulting from searching for files, Dropbox has launched Dash for Business, a new tool powered by artificial intelligence. A study revealed that employees could spend up to an hour a day searching for documents, resulting in millions in lost productivity.

Dash for Business acts as a personalized search engine, allowing users to access content stored across various applications like Google Drive, OneDrive, Asana, and Notion in a centralized manner. This tool uses artificial intelligence techniques to enhance search results, providing real-time answers, summaries, and additional recommendations based on user queries. Furthermore, it suggests related questions and links to content, facilitating the discovery of relevant information that may not have been initially considered.

Another component of Dash is Stacks, which allows teams to create organized collections of content by project, topic, or other categories. These collections are easily shareable and come with customizable settings to enable secure collaboration, both internally and externally.

Thanks to the recent acquisition of Nira technology, Dash also introduces advanced permission management. This allows administrators to monitor and control access to data across multiple connected platforms from a single interface, helping to maintain data security and regulatory compliance. Dash's artificial intelligence operates entirely within Dropbox's trust boundaries, ensuring that customer data remains secure, private, and compliant with internal policies.
