5 Essential Samsung Features That I Always Use

After several years of using a Galaxy phone, certain Samsung features have become essential for me. Here are the ones I want to share.

Since I acquired my Samsung Galaxy S21+, I have noticed that there are certain features I use regularly. These resources not only enhance my experience with the device but also transform the way I perform daily tasks. Below, I share five Samsung features that have become essential for me.

  1. AI Editing Tools in the Gallery
The Samsung Gallery includes a variety of AI-powered editing tools that are very useful. Among my favorites are the options for remastering photos, removing reflections, and erasing shadows. When accessing an image and tapping the information button, these functions appear based on what the photo needs. The remastering option allows you to enrich old or low-quality images in terms of color, clarity, and detail with just one click. On the other hand, the reflection removal tool is ideal for eliminating those annoying glares when taking photos through glass, and the shadow removal option is perfect for erasing the device's shadow in images. With these functions, any photo can achieve a professional touch easily.

  2. Mark to Search
This feature is surprisingly useful and easy to use. You just need to press and hold the home button and draw a circle or square around an object on the screen or select text, and the device will perform a related search. It can also be used from the camera; for example, if I see an album of a band I'm interested in at a store, I can capture its image and search for information about it. Additionally, it's helpful for locating device manuals simply by pointing at a serial number and marking it; in seconds, I will have the desired information.

  3. Widget Stacking
One of my favorite features of One UI is the option to stack widgets. This functionality allows you to group up to five 1×4 widgets in the same space, easily rotating between them as needed. Currently, I have stacked the Google Search and YouTube widgets, optimizing space on my home screen. This is especially practical for those of us who frequently consult various tools but prefer a visually less cluttered environment.

  4. Split Screen
The split-screen function changes the way we use the device. It’s excellent for running two tasks simultaneously, like using the calculator while reviewing receipts in another app, or taking notes while searching for relevant information. It has also been helpful for making technical support calls while having important data at hand, such as account numbers or product details. While I enjoy floating windows for video apps, the split screen represents a highly convenient tool.

  5. Modes and Routines
One of Samsung’s standout features is the ability to automate tasks through Modes and Routines. For instance, although I usually keep my phone on silent, I can activate a routine to maximize the volume of notifications and ringtone when I expect an important call, such as a package delivery. You can also adjust the screen brightness to 50% to save battery or set it to automatically connect to the office Wi-Fi when arriving at work. Additionally, it’s possible to create custom modes for various situations, like while driving, which simplifies device management and maximizes efficiency.
